Hi and happy Friday to you!! How crazy fast has this fall flown by! It’s hard to believe that we’re already almost into the holiday season. The fall is a busy season in the Couch home because we celebrate Marlowe’s birthday, Mark and I’s anniversary, and my birthday. A little over a week ago we had a birthday party to celebrate Marlowe’s second birthday! Marlowe is completely obsessed with dogs or as she calls them, “woof woofs”, so naturally we had to throw her a puppy themed party. Because of everything going on with covid, we were excited to be able to host a small party with family and close friends at our home. So many of you reached out to us on socials after seeing some of the photos from the party on asking about the details, so we thought we’d write a blog on how to throw your own puppy themed party! Here are the “paw-some” details;)

FOOD:

The cake: If you’re a Nashville local, you have to check out “Sweet Little Mother.” She makes the most spectacular cakes and has made Gus and Marlowe’s cakes for their last several birthday parties. I gave her a little direction on color, since of course, we had to have a pink cake- and let her run with it. And let me tell you, she knocked it out of the park! You can follow her on Instagram to see more at @sweetlittlemother We’re including pictures below!

The food: Because the party was fairly casual, we stuck with bite-sized snacks like cookies, chips, finger sandwiches, and mac and cheese cups. The mac and cheese cups are always a hit, so I’ll link those here for you!

Decorations:

If you’ve been following along for a while, you know that we’re big Amazon people! We were able to get all of our decorations from Amazon. My favorite part party detail was the “Adopt a Puppy” area we set up for the kids. We bought the cutest little dog balloons and set them up with a sign that said “Adopt a Puppy” for our guests to grab during the party and take home. They were adorable and such a hit with the kids! We’ll link all of the decorations you’'ll need for your puppy party here. Yes- all from Amazon!

Goodie Bags:

I had so much fun putting together the little take-home goodie bags! Here’s what I included: puppy notepads, puppy stickers, Scooby snacks, funny puppy face sticker sheet, and bone-shaped candies all in little, pastel plastic dog bowls! Everything is available on Amazon, so I’ll link all of those items here!

And thank you to Evin photgraphy for capturing all the sweet details!

Thanks for reading, friends! We'll talk to you next time!
